Welcome to our Reading Club!
We encourage all students to participate in our Kindergarten Reading club. Your child has to read at least 25 books by the end of the nine week period. Please record any books that you read with your child (not only the ones we send home). When you have completed the reading log, another log will be sent home.
Your child will be bringing home a book in a ziploc bag. Please take the time to read this book with your child and sign the enclosed reading log. The next morning, please return the book and the reading log with your child in the ziploc bag. PLEASE treat these books like yours because next day will go home with another child.
We are going to reward your child every time he reaches the 25 books goal. At the end of the year if your child read 100 books or more we will host a Reading Club celebration and special prices will be given to the top 3.
One of the first steps in learning to read is using picture clues and memorizing text. Please encourage your child to point to the words as they/you are reading. Pointing to the text increases word and letter recognition.
